Youth Haven Ranch, Eloy, Arizona --------- PART 1

You don't know how spread out Texas is until you drive through it; though not as big as Alaska, it is still a wide state to drive through!!!! We drove all day from Marble Falls, headed west and at the end of the day we were still in Texas.☺ Stopped for the night at a very busy truck stop which made sleeping a bit difficult. Made sure to stop at an RV Park next night to be able to get some rest. We ended up in a beautiful place up in the mountains of Arizona called Heber-Overgaard, elevation 6500 ft. ; stayed an extra day and even attended Sunday Service at a local Baptist Church. From there it was all downhill through Phoenix and Mesa and into Youth Haven Ranch (link) in Eloy, Arizona.

This time we arrived early enough to set up the RV and to visit with Mr. Dave Dean (Executive Director) who gave us a quick rundown of the facility and schedules. The actual work was postponed till mid January which gave us a great opportunity to head north and spend the Christmas Season with Family. The plan was to leave the RV on site and drive our truck instead, but before we left preventive measures had to be taken to protect the RV from marauding pack rats that apparently have an appetite for automotive electrical wiring; at least this is what the locals have told us. This could be a myth, folklore or legend but better safe than sorry. Since those rascals are nocturnal and don't appreciate light, the tried and tested solution was to use light ropes and lay it around the RV's perimeter. So after about 3 strands of lights and a timer, behold a work of art !!!!

You may need to wear your sunglasses even at night :-)
 See you all later -
